The second Open Master race in Ugento
gave to Vortex engines the leadership in the important KZ2 class
as well. The Ugento round allowed our engineers and our tuners to
do important tests in view of the European race, which will be run
on May, 6th, right on the Ugento track. The Vortex RAV has kept
itself at the top of the KF1 and KF2 classes ratings; the RVX, with
Marco Ardigň’s double shot, has sprung to the top position in the
shifter category, the KZ. In KF1 the pole position arrived with
the Tony Kart English driver, Gary Catt, whose record of 54”358
has shown the high performance of our engine. In the Finals, Catt
was able to keep his leadership with a 5th and 3rd position; his
team-mate, James Calado was even better, with his double second
place in both the races. In the general rating, we are at the top
with Catt and we are moving upward with Calado and Antonucci, who
have been approaching to the top. In KF2 Will Stevens has carried
out a wonderful race, in race 2 our driver has sprung twentieth,
due to a withdrawal in race 1, he has collected unbelievable lap
times and recovered to the second position, one step from victory.
This meant for us another best lap and a firm leadership in the
rating. In KF2 we don’t have to forget the pole position in group
2 of the Spanish Javier Tarancon with FA Kart chassis and the excellent
start, in the Final 1 of Camponeschi, on FA Kart as well. In the
category of the youngest drivers, KF3, our colours gained the pole
thanks to the Imparato Team driver Alessandro Vita Kouskin; in both
of the Finals the Spanish Jordi Cunill stood out, easily centring
the podium. In the shifter class, KZ, we collected the umpteenth
satisfaction of a positive day; with Marco Ardigň our RVX led the
competition. We started on Saturday with the pole, we won both the
finals. The unquestionable victories are accompanied by best laps
and allowed our driver to lead the absolute rating, with three victories
out of four races! Though we are aware of the difficulties that
a European Championship could hide, all the Vortex staff looks at
next International race with optimism, thanks to reliable performances
showed until now. |
