RAD, this is the name of Vortex  new engine, which is homologated for 2010-2012. The brand  new Rad is homologated CIK FIA 38/M/18 for the KF, KF1, KF2, KF3, KF4 categories.
This engine is the natural and  advanced evolution of the victorious RAV. RAD is projected on the same technical concept of the RAV, but Vortex has developped and improved the special characteristics that made the old RAV the leader in the races during  the last 3 years.
Vortex RAD is a 125 cc single-cylinder 2 stroke engine with reed valve admission in the crankcase. It is mixture lubricated and liquid-cooled with integrated water pump. It has got a digital ignition and an integrated electric starter, which the battery is dedicated to. Additionally it is provided with a balancer shaft, which reduces the vibrations, and with a power valve for the exhaust. The centrifugal dry clutch is monolithic.
