WSK Euro Series success in the top class, SKF and KF2 categories marks an important goal signed by Vortex engines. Kosmic Kart and Tony Kart Racing Team with Convers (France) and D’Agosto (Italy), have been crowded with the deserved success in both categories thanks to the new RAD model.
In SKF category not less than two out of three drivers of our Team were involved in the final success, Convers, De Vries and Ardigò.
Convers had the lead on others without any particular difficulties, he obtained the pole position, won the race-1 and reached the second place in the Final, gaining the continental title, after being the leader of the classifications since the second race, won on the occasion of Lonato’s competition.
Even more clear was our confirmation in KF2 with Tony Kart driven by D’Agosto, always leader in the classification and never bothered by his rival-competitors.
On technical basis Vortex RAD engines showed the best can be asked for: performances, reliability and versatility.
With a clear analysis of partial classifications of all 5 WSK events it is manifest on how Vortex have been the leader on any circuit, slow and fast one, with cold or hot weather conditions, on dry or wet tracks.
During the whole continental series we obtained not less of 8 victories, with 6 different drivers and 4 different partner-teams.
And the podiums have been even more numerous, in all categories, for a total amount of 14 placings and 5 pole positions.
These figures are thus efficaciously confirming the above mentioned qualities: high performances, strong reliability and versatility.
The decisive competition saw Vortex engines conquering two more partial results, very important ones, the first one with the British Lock from the Tony Kart Junior Racing Team in KF2 category, followed by the other Tony Kart-Vortex driven by the Japanese Kanamaru. We gained the second double-declutch in the difficult youth KF3 category, with Spinelli and Hiltbrand driving Tony Kart and Kosmic Kart respectively. The day has then been completed by the third place in KZ1 category with Dreezen, this way the blue and red Vortex colours have been largely waved on the International Circuit of Sarno, too.

Giovanni Corona Vortex manager:
“The most important thing was to positively end up with this first cycle of competitions, Euro Series, and I dare say we succeeded. We have been working since a lot of time with the aim of introducing enhancements to our engines for the world championship which will begin on the next three weeks.
The outcome of this result, the most important for us, is that a lot of drivers fought for the success with our engines. This means that all Vortex engines are high quality products. And this is satisfactory to me”. |
