Pole position and podium for Vortex in Cremona

12-11-2025

On the occasion of the WSK Final Cup’s second round, the VTS unit of the OTK Kart Group “engine division” finishes the OK category final on the third step of the podium, after having proved to be the fastest in the qualifying heats.

OK – After its victory in the previous round at Franciacorta, the Vortex VTS is once again in contention for the top place among the ‘Seniors’. Our engine stands out above all others in the qualifyings, thanks to the best chrono time of 47.259 seconds set by Jindřich Pešl (Tony Kart Racing Team), and in the subsequent qualifying heats it gathers a total of two victories, two top-3 finishes and two fastest laps. The OTK Kart Group engine division also scored a success in the A Prefinal.

From the pole position, Pešl immediately takes the lead in the Sunday afternoon's final and runs at the lead until halfway through the race, when he is forced to give up a few positions due to a collision. Nevertheless, the Czech driver takes the lowest step on the podium and, with the results achieved in this second round, remains firmly at the top of the championship standings.

The Rookie Mateo Rivals (Tony Kart Racing Team), at his debut in the category, performs a comeback of ten positions in the final, which allows him to finish the weekend among the top ten drivers. Furthermore, at the starting grid of the final we find Iskender Zulfikari (Tony Kart Racing Team), Oliver Rasmussen (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Thomas Pradier (Tony Kart Racing Team), the latter setting the fastest lap of the entire weekend (47.087 seconds).

KZ2 – On such a circuit that is completely new to him, as Cremona, Marcus Armstrong (Tony Kart Racing Team) immediately finds a good feeling in the free practices of Friday morning, finishing sixth. The New Zealander, running with a Tony Kart Racer 401 T powered by our Vortex VTZ engine, will continue his karting ‘interlude’ in Lonato del Garda, training for next season, which will see him competing once again in the IndyCar Series.

OKJ – The Vortex VTJ obtains positive performances throughout the Cremona weekend, gaining the third place in Group 1 of the qualifying heats and three places in the top-3  qualifying heats, as well as a victory, a second place and a third place in the two pre-finals of Sunday morning.

The final is not so lucky for Ilie Tristan Crisan (Tony Kart Racing Team). The Canadian driver, who started from the second row, is involved in an accident with no fault of his own and is forced to retire from the race early. However, Julian Frasnelli (Tony Kart Racing Team) shows off, finishing in the top-10 under the chequered flag.

Antonio Pizzonia Neto (Tony Kart Racing Team), Oliveri Sini (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Yubo Wen (Tony Kart Racing Team) are the other three drivers attending the final with the VTJ engines.

MINI Gr.3 – Just back from its success at Franciacorta, the Vortex VTM engine is once again fighting for a top place in the category. Victor Thomas Gorun (Tony Kart Racing Team), after gaining a third place as his best result in the qualifying heats and a fourth place in pre-final A, battles for the lead in the early stages of the final and narrowly misses out on the podium. The Romanian driver, however, remains at the top of the championship standings.

Zane Pace (Tony Kart Racing Team), who is also author of a the top-3 in the eliminatory heats, finishes immediately behind Gorun. Miguel Enrique Manzano Suarez (Tony Kart Racing Team) recovers eight positions and hits the top ten. Andrea Iannone (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Lingham Li (Tony Kart Racing Team) also take part in the final.

MINI Gr.3 U10 – The Vortex VTM is also present in the youngest category, with Farel Dugat Beretta (Tony Kart Racing Team), Nahil Padovani Amador (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Blake Hsueh (Tony Kart Racing Team) attending the final.
