Vortex crows champion of the WSK Final Cup

In the last round of the championship held Lonato del Garda, the VTS engine of the OTK Kart Group's ‘engine division’ hits the title in the OK category with Jindrich Pesl (Tony Kart Racing Team), who finishes second in the final.

OK – The Vortex VTS ends the 2025 season by winning the WSK Final Cup. The engine from the OTK Kart Group's ‘engine division’ confirms its position at the top of the ‘Senior’ category standings since the qualifying heats, with a victory and a second place, followed by a second place in the A pre-final.

Jindřich Pešl (Tony Kart Racing Team), winner of the first round in Franciacorta and on the podium in the second round in Cremona, starts the final from the front row, with the provisional championship lead. After a flawless start, the Czech driver runs steady in the top three and, with an overtaking manoeuvre on the last lap and just a few metres from the finish line, gains the middle step of the podium and it’s with this result, that Pešl also wins the title.

Oliver Rasmussen (Tony Kart Racing Team) finishes among the top ten drivers in the final, ahead of his teammates Thomas Pradier (Tony Kart Racing Team), Mateo Rivals (Tony Kart Racing Team), author of a comeback of fourteen positions, and Iskender Zulfikari (Tony Kart Racing Team).

KZ2 – The VTZ engine runs along Marcus Armstrong (Tony Kart Racing Team) in the last race of his karting career in 2025. The experience gained during the WSK Final Cup is an important step for him in view of the upcoming season in the IndyCar Series.

OKJ – The VTJ engine is also fighting for the title among the ‘Juniors’. In the qualifying heats, the Vortex engine scores a victory, a third place and a fastest lap with Ilie Tristan Crisan (Tony Kart Racing Team). In the final, the Canadian soon gains the lead and is able to keep it in the first five laps. Subsequently, in the fight for the victory, he loses positions and finishes under the chequered flag, off the podium.

Antonio Reginaldo Pizzonia Neto (Tony Kart Racing Team) ends the final as the second-best driver equipped with the VTJ unit, while Julian Frasnelli (Tony Kart Racing Team) is put off the race because of a collision shortly after the start while in eighth place. Oliveri Sini (Tony Kart Racing Team) is also sidelined in the opening lap due to a multiple accident.

MINI Gr.3 – After the excellent results achieved in the two previous rounds, including a victory at Franciacorta, the Vortex VTM engine has an excellent chance of winning the 2025 title. With a second place as his best result in the qualifying heats and a third place in the A pre-final, Victor Thomas Gorun (Tony Kart Racing Team) secures a place on the second row for the final, in which he is constantly fighting for the podium. The Romanian driver finally wins the bronze medal in the championship.

Linghan Li (Tony Kart Racing Team) finishes in a convincing top 10, after having previously gained a second place in the A Prefinal, while Miguel Enrique Manzano Suarez (Tony Kart Racing Team) completes a fourteen-position comeback from the starting grid. In the final, also Zane Pace (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Andrea Iannone (Tony Kart Racing Team) are running.

MINI Gr.3 U10 – The Vortex VTM engine is also on track in the category reserved to the youngest drivers, with Nahil Padovani Amador (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Farel Dugat Beretta (Tony Kart Racing Team) busy in such an important working weekend in view of the next season.
